In addition to our coursework and travels, the Salzburg Academy offers many different leisurely activities, including:
Ping Pong
Scenic Running Routes
Mini-Golf
Foosball
Swimming
If we’re interested, I think one of us should take the lead on organizing some weeknight tournaments, group game activities, or just challenge one of the faculty, to see if you are truly a better table tennis player…

sounds to me like someone is itching to try and beat the rest of us in ping-pong/minigolf…. my question is… is there any accesible rock climbing in the area?
Aaron,
There’s a lot of rock-climbing in the area–we’re effectively w/in running/biking distance of a huge mountain made out of marble (the mountain you see in the background of the photo on the right of Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music)–and a terrific ropes course (3 levels of height and difficulty) abt 20 minutes away. I’d done the ropes course, but haven’t done any climbing over there. However, several of the staff are pretty serious hikers and climbers and could probably answer some questions like where are reputable climbing schools, etc. to get equipment.
Austrians are very serious about their sports, so count on the fact that w/in not too great a distance there is some of everything.
The swimming pool, BTW, is fabulous–6 pools, one Olympic sized, others with slides, and fountains, etc. It’s literally right next door, also on the lake–and the mini-golf is attached.

Basketball?
bobsledding?
There seems to be a lot of hype around mini-golf … I think we all need to challenge Paul to see if he’s all talk and no game!
I can’t wait to see the look on paul’s face when I own him in mini-golf.
