My name is María Cruz, I’m 21 years old and I was born in Mendoza, an argentinian province that is west of Buenos Aires, Argentina.I moved to the capitol city when I was only five years old and I’ve lived here ever since.
When I was ten, I got into a journalism workshop at school and ever since then, I said I wanted to become a journalist. Later on, when I got into college I realised I didn’t know what being a journalist really ment. But as I approache the end of my degree, I realise I love this, and there’s nothing else I could do with more passion.
As regards hoobies, I have quite a few. I love reading (in the train, in the bus, at the beach, everywhere…) and writing short stories (I have been doing this even as a little girl). I also like knitting. And last but not least, I love acting. I actually form part of an independent theatre group. Every year we put on stage a different play, usually musicals. I also love attending different shows in Buenos Aires.
As a near-future project, I would like to do a master in documentary production. Filming is my passion, and I find in documentaries a fine artistic way to communicate almost anything you want.
I couldn’t be more excited about going to Salzburg! I believe intercultural exchange is very enriching. I find it owesome to be able to exchange ideas about the media with people who come from countries where mass media has such a different role in society from the one it has in my country.
Besides, we are going to have the best of times! Best wishes and see you soon,
María
