My aspirations are far from being simple. I want to report for an online multimedia news organization on Latin American socio-political issues that people can do something about with whatever resources they have. In particular, I would like to write about Brazil because my family is from there and because it is a challenge to inspire Brazilians to be proactive in their communities with the cynical and skeptical sentiments that exist towards the corrupt government. Since I have an endless amount of resources by living in the United States, studying at the University of Miami and working with the Knight Foundation, I want to show people that their hope for a better tomorrow is not in vain. Change is possible. The Salzburg Academy Program for Media and Global Change gives me the opportunity to get together with journalists with similar dreams. Together, we can share our ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.

Dear Walyce,
Hello! I’m Tanya from Lebanon.
Just wanted to tell you that I share your aspirations; I too believe that a “better tomorrow” is possible and that media can be a contributing factor towards achieving it.
Looking forward to sharing ideas with you on this in Salzburg.
See you there!
Tanya.
