Paul Mihailidis is a faculty member at the Salzburg Academy, and the Director for Media Education Initiatives/Visiting Faculty at the University of Maryland’s International Center for Media and the Public Agenda (ICMPA). Paul’s current research concerns the effectiveness of media literacy in higher education. He has published articles on global media education, journalism education, and new media influences on international education. In addition to his research, Paul teaches at the University of Maryland, and is employed by Stockholm University as part of a team of consultants for numerous European Union funded projects. Before coming to the University of Maryland, Paul worked as an editor with Pearson Education in Boston, Massachusetts, where he grew up.
Paul, whose parents came to the United States on a boat from Greece in the 1960s, has lived in numerous European locations. He spent over four years living in Europe in Stirling and Edinburgh, Scotland, and 1 year in Stockholm, Sweden.
