Stuart Allan is Professor of Journalism at Bournemouth University, UK. He is the author of News Culture (1999, second edition, 2004), Media, Risk and Society (2002) and Online News: Journalism and the Internet (2006). His edited collections include Journalism after September 11 (2002) and Reporting War: Journalism in Wartime (2004), both co-edited with Barbie Zelizer, and Journalism: Critical Issues (2005). Much of his current research focuses on the online reporting of crises, conflict and war, with a special interest in blogging and citizen journalism.
