I come from Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, in South Africa. I started my studies at the University of Stellenbosch in 2003, and completed a law degree in 2006. Thereafter I did an honours degree in journalism, also at Stellenbosch. I am currently busy with my masters degree in journalism, and am focusing on the increasingly tense relationship between the law (or judiciary) and the media as a dissertation subject. I strongly believe that the media can play an immensely important role in advancing legal consciousness among citizens, especially citizens of developing countries.
